• Visiting The H.R MacMillan Space Centre In Vancouver

Many homeschool jokes ran through my head as we packed up our three littles and headed for the big city. Now that we’re further out in the Valley, it really is a trek to get to Downtown Vancouver. It was my husbands last day off work for the Christmas holidays and we were overdue for some family time! Our mission for the morning was a visit to the H.R MacMillan Space Centre! I decided that for the month of January we’ll learn about Astronauts, planets, and all things Space. It’s been an area of interest for my oldest recently, and a homeschooling field trip seemed like a great way to…

  • Country Christmas at Timberline Ranch

“Christmas in the country, like another time and place. I see it in the little things, in every smiling face. It’s crystal nights and far off lights, and children count the days. Country Christmas, and love will lead the way.” / Roger Whittaker As we drove along a deserted road near the mountains in Maple Ridge, I already knew this was going to be my kind of Christmas event. All was quiet and peaceful when we passed under the sign for Timberline Ranch, and we were greeted to the delicious smell of falling rain as we stepped out of our vehicle. We were here to experience an old fashion Country Christmas and the…

  • Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa, Osoyoos, BC

I feel like I’m in California… From where I currently sit I have an incredible view of the sprawling vineyards below. Acres upon acres and rows upon rows of lush green plants blow gently in the wind against a sparkling blue watery backdrop. I can see boats cruising on the lake, a helicopter taking off on a tour and guests wandering up and down the sandy paths. It’s hot and dry here; I even saw a sign warning of rattle snacks in the area. It’s hard to believe we didn’t take a plane to get to this destination and that we are in fact, still in the same province. We’re…

  • Whistler Summit, Whistler, BC

As a family with young children, there are a lot of things we have to consider in regards to where we stay. We would never choose not to travel because of having kids. So what do we look for? Space, room layout and child friendliness is huge. Does it provide the option of eating in our room? Because eating out with toddlers three meals a day is kind of a gong show, not to mention expensive! Is it close to attractions we want to see, but still maintain that sense of calm we need to relax? Yes, places like this do exist, you just need to know where to look. And if…

  • Whistler, BC, With Little Kids

Whistler – one of the most livable communities in the world and where adrenaline junkies, fresh air lovers and scenic searchers come to play! It was also the home of the Alpine, Nordic and Sliding events during the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games! Whistler has been our go-to weekend getaway location for many years. Because it’s only a two hour drive from our home in the Fraser Valley, it makes the perfect quick trip. We hadn’t had the opportunity to go since our two boys arrived, so we were super eager to visit last weekend and see how fun it would be with our two toddlers! We knew this would be…
