When we decided to visit Montreal in Quebec, I knew we’d be short on time to sight-see. This meant that we needed a hotel that was central, comfortable, and close to the main tourist spots. The main things I looked for was a place in Old Montreal that also included a full breakfast. There was only one place that fit the bill – SpringHill Suites Old Montreal!
Located at 445 rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, it doesn’t get more centrally located to Old Montreal than this place! We were walking distance to Place d’Armes, a historic square that features the Notre-Dame Basilica, the original Bank of Montreal, and the Maisonneuve Monument. Many museums and the science center were also a short walk away. We were also a twelve minute drive from BioDome and five minutes from the closest highway.
Despite the fact that SpringHill Suites Old Montreal is located in a popular area of the city, we found it to be very quiet! We were visiting on one of the biggest holidays of the year and still, we never heard a peep from outside while we slept during our three night stay!
Our basic room was a great size with a living area and mini-kitchen off to the side. The shower and toilet was separated from the sink and mirror, which made it much easier to get ready for bed at night. The beds were cozy, but didn’t feel like a full Queen in size.
The staff were friendly, accommodating, and spoke both French and English. Each morning they could be found bustling around the breakfast room refilling coffee pots, muffin trays, and the yogurt fridge. On weekends they even offer waffles! It was wonderful to start the day off right with tasty croissants and a bowl of fresh fruit!
There is parking available for guests in the lot next door, but like most intercity parking, it will cost you. An attendant will both park your vehicle and bring it to you when required. The hotel is on a tight back street and trust me, you’d rather have them do it!
I would not hesitate to return to SpringHill Suites Old Montreal. Whether you’re traveling with kids, as a couple, or solo, you’ll find this place to be an ideal stay. Location, location, location!
